BIO FOR DWAYNE E. ALEXANDER
Dwayne E. Alexander is a 2005 Graduate having earned an MFA in Screenwriting
from the American Film Institute (AFI). He is a 2002 graduate from The City College of New York, where he received a BA in Communications,
concentrating in Film and Video. Dwayne has worked in theater, and in documentary film. He has created several
documentaries, film shorts and many feature length scripts. He's currently
shopping a documentary
called SOUTHERN
FRIED SUPERSTARS.
He is a recipient of the, 2004/2005 Henry Hathaway Screenwriting
Scholarship at AFI, the 2001 Project Ascend/McNair Fellowship Award, Phi Beta Kappa honors and graduated Magna Cum
Laude.
While attending AFI, in 2004, he worked as an intern for film director, Wolfgang
Petersen; with his Radiant Production Company while in pre-production for the 2006 feature film Poseidon. In 2005 and
his final year at AFI, he worked as a production assistant for the writing staff of the Lifetime TV Channel’s Show MISSING, starring Vivica Fox, until the season Three ended. Post Missing,
he again worked as a production assistant for the writing staff, for ABC’s Disney Family Channel TV show WILDFIRE, until the season Two ended.
In February 2006, he was notified that his screenplay, FOR GREENWOOD, placed in the quarterfinals, out of 2400 entries,
in Francis Ford Coppola’s 2005 American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest.
October 2007 found him coming off producing and directing his first
play in Los Angeles
called FULL
MOON BLUES, starring Blues
Legend Linda Hopkins. He has several feature films in pre-production, two being the biopic for the famous disco singer SYLVESTER and WILLA MAE, THE CHURCH LADY VAMPIRE SLAYER.
