Actor, director, and producer, Jerome Bethea got his Hollywood start in South Carolina where his huge afro (since shaven) and his impressive basketball skills won him a role on the home basketball team in the movie Radio with Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding Jr.  Moving to Lawton, Oklahoma, (his birthplace) in late 2004, Jerome got his start in the independent film industry when he won the 2005 Indie Star Contender competition at Barebones.

He has since gone on to star in numerous independent films, including Soulmates (now available at www.yorkentertainment.com), Hurt, The Emissary, Double-Edged Ledge and Manifest Multimedia.  In addition to Radio, he appeared in the Hollywood feature Wisteria filmed in Guthrie, OK.  A variety of regional television commercials showcase Jerome’s skills, promoting everything from credit unions to Hastings Book Stores to Martha Stewart.  His most recent endeavor is in founding the production company Goin’ Fishin’ Productions with partner Travis Palmer of Norman.  Their first hilarious short film The Scot & The Aussie: First Meeting, which Jerome directed and starred as “The Scot,” will debut at Barebones this weekend.  Jerome is married to Summer, and they live in Lawton with their green iguana Sobe.  Check out Jerome’s website at www.jeromebethea.com.
